Georgi Kobilarov

I'm a researcher on Semantic Web technologies working at the Freie Universität Berlin. Previously I worked as a research associate in the Semantic and Adaptive Systems Department at Hewlett-Packard Labs Bristol, United Kingdom. My current research aims to develop exploratory user interfaces and interaction models for the Semantic Web. I'm a member of the Web-based Systems Group at FU-Berlin.

As founding member and lead developer of the DBpedia project, I am highly interested in ways to bootstrap Semantic Web adoption. Therefore, I also participate in the Linking Open Data project, a community which publishes and interlinks open datasets on the web as Linked Data. My research project Humboldt aims to find new ways of exploratory interaction with massive Semantic Web datasets like DBpedia.

I spent my childhood and college years in Berlin, Germany, where I studied business economics with a concentration in computer science at the Freie Universität Berlin and worked as a research assistant as well as a teaching assistant.
